The Belize Zoo’s Education Department has been engaging Belizean communities countrywide through dynamic outreach programs for over 30 years.
In recent years, the Education team has focused it’s regular programming on communities within the Maya Forest Corridor (MFC). Currently we conduct weekly sessions with schools that serve the communities of Mahogany Heights, La Democracia, Franks Eddy, and Hattieville, with plans for expansion in 2025.
In addition to providing support for literacy, environmental education, and kinesthetic learning, TBZTEC works to aid teachers in providing adequate classroom supplies for the enhancement of the learning experience of their respective students.
We are proud to partner with Pack for a Purpose in order to achieve this goal, which impacts hundreds of school children in central Belize.
