Stay at our Tropical Education Center!
The Tropical Education Center (TEC) is an 84 acre site set on tropical lowland savanna roughly a mile away from The Belize Zoo. Founded in 1991 as an extension of TBZ, the TEC was developed on the premise that education and awareness are fundamental to wildlife conservation, and therefore provides tourists, students, and researchers the opportunity to lodge in the “wild” lowland savanna environment of the Maya Forest Corridor.
The TEC offers a variety of accommodations, a dining hall, library, air conditioned conference room, pool, and a broad system of nature trails highlighting unique habitats in our landscape.
It is also home to a variety of native flora and fauna, including endangered and endemic species.
The TEC is a 30 minute drive from the Philip Goldson International Airport, and is half way between Belize City and Belmopan.
