More than 12,000 students parents and teachers from all over Belize visit the Zoo yearly.
The Zoo's Education Department offers a warm welcome and introductory discussion to visiting schools groups before they venture into the Zoo.
Our discussions vary depending on the age/class levels:
Animal identification and feeding habits for pre-school and lower division (Primary school)
Adaptations for middle & upper division (Primary school)
Ecosystems and Conservation for high school and above
When possible, the introductions are followed by an interactive session with "Balboa," our resident Boa Constrictor.
